CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENT 2014 – KIRKBY HIGH SCHOOL

In 2014 the guest of Honour was Cameron Graham. Cameron was a pupil at Kirkby High School. Cameron began attending Kirkby Karate club at the age of seven. He has been a part of the Karate Union of Great Britain squad since the age of 14.

In May 2013 Cameron was selected to take part in the 2013 European Shotokan Karate-Do Association (ESKA) Championships in Portugal. Cameron won a bronze medal in both the Junior Male team competition and in the Senior Male team competition.

In September 2013 Cameron competed in the World Shotokan   Karate Association (WSKA) Championships at the Liverpool Echo Arena. The competition – held every two years – saw Cameron pit his martial arts skills against competitors from over 30 different nations. He won a bronze medal in the team kumite, and was 9th in the overall junior mens category.

In May 2014 Cameron took part in the KUGB National Championships in Birmingham. He finished first in the Junior Male Kumite 18 to 20yrs category and was also awarded the Derek Langham memorial trophy for the most outstanding junior competitor.

Cameron continues to competes and recently achieved success in the 31st Annual ESKA European Shotokan Karate-Do Association Championships in Chalkida, Greece.
