FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT – SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN THE PAGE

Fairtrade Fortnight 2017 took place from February 27th to March 10th.

The theme this year was It’s time to put Fairtrade in your break. Each school in Kirkby took part in activities during the fortnight.

There was a Kirkby Schools Council meeting to discuss what schools are going to do during the fortnight, and share their ideas across the Collaborative community.

Millbrook Primary School – The school held a Fairtrade Coffee Morning. Young Voices sang to the parents as they enjoyed refreshments. and the School Council served them. There was also a lucky winner of a Fairtrade cake.

Northwood Primary School – Here at Northwood we have been celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight doing lots of activities in class and learning about Fairtrade.

We have been selling Fairtrade products in our Tuck shop every day.

We have had a whole School Break for every child in the School even in our nursery. All children had Fairtrade hot chocolate, bananas and toast. This went down a storm and all children thoroughly enjoyed their Fairtrade break !!

We held a coffee morning for Parents where they will be having Fairtrade tea, coffee and a kit kat !! We combined it with a presentation on Child Criminal Exploitation which is also being delivered in Y5 and Y6 lessons. We use all Fairtrade products which the parents enjoyed.

Radio Purple Stars – why not listen to a broadcast by Radio Purple Stars about Fairtrade Fortnight 2016. Radio Purple Stars broadcasts from Northwood Primary School.
