The Kirkby Collaborative of Schools have supported Knowsley Foodbank since its small beginnings at St Marks Church in Northwood to its current home at the Business Resources Centre (BRC) in Kirkby.
Schools hold Foodbank collections throughout the year. School Councils have also visited the Foodbank to see what happens to the food and non food items that are collected.
Schools also are able to distribute Foodbank vouchers to those in need within the community.
All Kirkby primary school staff also hold a Foodbank collection at the annual Collaborative INSET day.
