Kirkby Schools Council

31/01/2017parentapps

The Kirkby Schools Council is the pupil voice of the Kirkby Collaborative of Schools.

The Council is composed of pupil representatives from the fifteen Collaborative schools and meets regularly at Eastcroft Park Primary School.

The Kirkby Child

The key theme for 2016-17 is the development of The Kirkby Child. The fifteen schools are working together to develop an agreed set of core values and skills which our Collaborative community deems important for students to work towards both in and out of school.

Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight 2017 takes place from February 27th to March 10th

The theme this year is It’s time to put Fairtrade in your break. Each school is taking part in activities during the fortnight. There will be a Kirkby Schools Council meeting to discuss what schools are going to do during the fortnight,  and share their ideas across the Collaborative community.

School celebrations and activities during Fairtrade Fortnight will be put onto the Collaborative website so watch this space!

For further details regarding Fairtrade Fortnight see

Kirkby Schools Council and the London Olympics 2012

In 2012 pupils from the Kirkby Collaborative of Schools worked with neetTV to produce this film about the Olympic and Paralympic Values. The film looks at how we practise these values throughout our every day lives.

About neetTV – We are an educational charity operating under the name of Knowsley Enterprise Academy.  neetTV is a film making project that works with businesses, young people (some who are NEET), schools, post 16 learners, charities and Local Authorities all over the North West.

As we move to full opening of schools it is time to pause and say THANKYOU to the Kirkby Collaborative education team – all our parents and carers, school staff and children – who have worked in partnership during lockdown to provide fantastic education opportunities

Well done to all our schools who took part in World Book Day with an imaginative range of ideas, activities and character costumes – and this year the additional appearance in many schools of The Masked Reader …. https://t.co/U9YSFUwaTi

As we move to full opening of our schools next week it is worth noting that last week over 1,000 children attended school each day in the 14 schools of the Kirkby Collaborative – well done everyone for your support to the Kirkby community

We know times are challenging and every little helps. We have a large amount of donated food (jars, tins, pasta rice etc). Please feel free to pop in to school between 1-3pm every Wednesday beginning today (20th). Entrance is via the car park. Remember mask and bags. https://t.co/h2f2ojgEUK

Congratulations to our 14 Kirkby schools for putting in place measures 12 hours after the lock down announcement, enabling over 650 children per day to access face to face education, support key workers and vulnerable children, AND provide home based pupils with remote learning !
